SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN ROBBERY/ATTEMPTED MURDER

A brother and sister have been arrested in connection with a robbery, shooting and attempted carjacking in Paulsboro that occurred on April 22, 2016.   Following an investigation by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office and the Paulsboro Police Department,  Donnell Scruggs  age 36, of Glassboro  was taken into custody at a Glassboro apartment on 2/1/17. He is charged with attempted murder, robbery, carjacking, conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit carjacking.

Arrested 1/10/17 on the same charges was Renae Scruggs age 34, of Paulsboro, sister of Donnell. Donnell and Renae Scruggs are being held without bail.

Also charged in the same incident and arrested 5/26/16 was  Ryan K. Williams age 38, of  Paulsboro.  He is charged with attempted murder, robbery,  unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose and  aggravated assault.  He is jailed in default of $750,000 bail.

The victim in the incident was a 39-year-old Paulsboro man who was shot once in the chest and was found by police in the parking area of a Paulsboro convenience store on Billings Ave. on the night of 4/22/16.  Cash, a wristwatch and cell phones were taken.
