PEDESTRIAN MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH

Press Release FTPD – Franklin Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey

Franklin Township Police officers were dispatched on Wednesday, Dec. 13th at around 6:15PM in the area of 546 Harding Highway for a pedestrian motor vehicle crash.

During the initial investigation, police determined that a 65 year old male operating a Chevrolet truck was traveling westbound on Harding Highway (Route 40) approaching the intersection with Tuckahoe Road when a 50 year old male, who was operating an electric bicycle was traveling westbound on the shoulder. A short time later, the bicyclist entered into the westbound lane of travel causing the truck to strike the bicyclist. The 50 year old male sustained serious bodily injuries and was airlifted to Cooper Hospital from the scene and is currently listed in critical condition. The motor vehicle crash is being investigated by Officer Joseph Branco of the Franklin Township Police Department.
