Motor Vehicle Crash With Injuries
On Friday, Feb. 17th , Newfield Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on the N. West Boulevard at Sandy Drive. Police officers arrived around at 11:45 pm to find that a female driver and her 11 year old female passenger had struck a utility pole. The 11 year old passenger had serious injuries and was transported by helicopter to Cooper Hospital, Camden.
According to information listed on the Newfield Police Department official Facebook page, the driver of the 2016 minivan Mayra A. Guardado age 35 of Williamstown was arrested and charged with DWI along with numerous other motor vehicle offenses. Guardado was also charged with assault by auto and endangering the welfare of a child. Guardado was processed and released by the courts, on a summons. Newfield Police were assisted by the Franklin Township Police Department, Newfield Fire Department, Malaga Fire Department and Gloucester County EMS.
