YMCA Program Teaches Kids to Be Confident and Safe around Water

Nationally, three children die every day as a result of drowning. Through its Safety around Water Program, the Cumberland Cape Atlantic YMCA/YMCA of Vineland helps to prevent this tragedy.  This important initiative will be held at the Y on five Fridays, from May 19 to June 16. Classes will build individual skills to help kids to be safe in and around water. The classes will be set at half hour intervals starting at 4:30 p.m. and ending at 6:30 p.m. The earliest session is for third to eighth grade beginners and the later times are for ages four or five through grade two. The fee is $10. Space is limited; interested parents are encouraged to register as soon as possible. For more information, please call the YMCA at (856)691-0030 or visit 1159 East Landis Avenue, in Vineland.
