Safe Sitter® Babysitting Course

Inspira Medical Center Vineland offers Safe Sitter® Babysitting Course

Inspira Medical Center Vineland will offer two Safe Sitter Babysitting Courses to area teens (age 11 to 15) on Saturday, April 8 and Saturday, May 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The course is a medically accurate babysitting program that teaches young teens life and safety skills, including nurturing child care techniques, behavior management skills, and appropriate responses to medical emergencies.

The up-to-date curriculum provides hands-on practice in lifesaving techniques designed to prepare babysitters to act in an emergency. Babysitters also receive instruction on how a child’s age affects how to care for them, how to prevent problem behavior and how to run their own babysitting business. Participants will also learn basic first-aid as well as how to perform infant and child choking rescue. Additional advanced modules in CPR and first-aid are also available.

To graduate from the Safe Sitter course and receive a completion card, students must pass a rigorous practical and written test that indicates their mastery of key concepts and life and safety skills. The course fee is $75, which includes all course materials and lunch, and can be applied to National Honor Society requirements. All participants must be at least 11 years of age. Inspira Medical Center Vineland Education Department is located at 1505 West Sherman Avenue in Vineland. For more information or to register, please call (856) 641-7535.
