ARREST MADE IN SHOOTING

Franklin Township – Demond J. Bell age 19 of Walnut Road, Vineland City was arrested on Monday, December 19th in connection with a shooting that occurred in Franklin Township earlier this year on March 13th, 2016 at the AFSCME building located on Leonard Cake Road in the Franklinville section of Franklin Township.

The shooting occurred in the rear section of the AFSCME building at the conclusion of a birthday party.  Several subjects were involved in an altercation in the parking lot which resulted in several gun shots being fired into a crowd.   A male victim was shot during the altercation and was treated for a single gunshot wound to the leg at Inspira Hospital, Vineland division.

Demond was charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault as well as several other weapons offenses for his role in the shooting.    Demond was lodged in Salem County Correctional Facility and is currently being held on $50,000 full cash bail   The investigation is ongoing and more arrests may follow.

The investigation was conducted by Det. Lt. Kenneth Gonzalez and Officer Joseph Murray of the Franklin Twp. Police Department SID.
