VOLA CATHERINE OLSEN – Obituary

Vola Catherine Olsen (nee Fletcher) of Franklinville on Saturday, November 18, 2017.  Age 72.  Wife of 47 years to John Phillip Olsen, Jr.  Mother of Joanne Vola (Matthew J. Katsoris) Olsen and Suzanne L. (William F.) Stoms.  Grandmother of Nathan and Shawn Stoms.  Soon-to-have-been Great-grandmother of Hailey Rose Mazurek-Stoms.  Sister of James and Edward Fletcher.  Sister-in-law of James (Valerie), George (Linda), and Terry (Donna) Olsen.  Daughter of the late James and Vola Ruth (nee Moore) Fletcher.

Born and raised in Cherry Hill, Vola has been a resident of Franklinville since 1975.  She was a graduate of Cherry Hill High School and worked for a number of years as a secretary in Accounts Receivable for Shulmans Air Freight in Cherry Hill.  Later Vola worked as a cashier at Kings Department Store in Vineland for 10 years and then K-Mart in Glassboro for 20 years until her retirement in 2001 as Cashier Supervisor.  She was a huge Elvis fan and loved animals, especially the many dogs and birds she had over the years.  Vola also enjoyed traveling with her husband, going to horse races, occasionally visiting the casinos, and going out to dinner.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Saturday, November 25, 2017, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312.  Funeral service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Interment Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.
