NORVA NAOMI MALONE – Obituary

Norva Naomi Malone of Franklin Township passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. Age 78. Loving wife of 40 years to the late Guy Lee, III.  Mother of Melody Gervasi-Malone, Thomas M. (Charlene) McCaffery, and the late John Joseph McCaffery. Grandmother of Russell Gervasi; Diana Gervasi; Marty McCaffery; Stacey McCaffery; John McCaffery, Jr.; Patrick McCaffery; Erin (Ryan) Elder; and Shane McCaffery. Great-grandmother of Landon and Maddox Elder. Daughter of the late Thomas Joseph and Norva (nee Tinsman) Malone.
Born in Camden and raised in Westville, Norva was a resident of Franklin Township for the past 40 years and a part-time resident of Lake Gilman since she was a young girl. She was a 1956 graduate of Woodbury High School and went on to earn a BSN from Rutgers University School of Nursing. Norva worked as a Registered Nurse for Underwood-Memorial Hospital for 20 years and later for Elmer Hospital for 15 years before retiring in 2000.
Norva loved to travel, especially throughout Europe. She traveled to Paris multiple times and twice completed the Camino de Santiago Christian pilgrimage to the shrine of the apostle Saint James in Galicia, Spain. She was a talented artist who enjoyed spending her days in her art studio working on portraits of loved ones and recreating historical works of art. Norva was a Franklin Township Democratic Committee Member and worked the polls and local fundraisers for many years.  She volunteered with the American Red Cross throughout her retirement and was also an animal lover and advocate for wildlife preservation.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Monday, January 23, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. Funeral service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Interment All Saints Cemetery, Franklin Township.
