Final 2017 Household Special Waste Collection Day this Saturday

(Clayton) –The final Household Special Waste (HSW) Collection event for 2017 will take place this Saturday, October 21 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gloucester County Roads Department, Clayton Complex, 1200 N. Delsea Drive (Rt. 47), Clayton. The event will be held rain or shine. The HSW Program is a series of periodic collection events conducted at specified locations where Gloucester County residents can drop-off their old oil-based paint, motor oil, antifreeze, rechargeable batteries, CFL bulbs, fluorescent tubes, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, and similar materials for recycling, reuse, and/or proper disposal. Latex paint is not accepted and must be dried out with kitty litter and placed in the regular trash. This is a free service for Gloucester County residents. Businesses are not permitted to participate.

This special waste collection event gives residents a place to safely dispose of items that can harm the environment and our water supplies. Whether you have old chemicals, gasoline that isn’t usable or paint products no longer needed, this is your opportunity to dispose of them. No materials will be accepted after 2 p.m. Residents must adhere to the posted event times; materials cannot be accepted after the closing time. The drop-off event is for Gloucester County residents only. Commercial businesses are prohibited from participating. For further information, please contact the GCIA/Office of Recycling at 478-6045.
