ARRESTS MADE IN AUG 2016 WOOLWICH KIDNAPPING/ATTEMPTED MURDER
Andrew Turner age 23 of Williamstown, New Jersey and Kenkell Francis age 40 of Camden New Jersey, have been charged by the GCPO with Kidnapping, Criminal Restraint, Attempted Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon, and Conspiracy in connection with an August 24, 2016 incident in Woolwich Twp.
The victim was kidnapped at gunpoint by Turner and Francis along with one other individual in Camden. He was driven around for several hours before stopping in Woolwich Twp. where the victim escaped and was shot at 3 times, with one shot striking his left hand. Turner was arrested by members of the US Marshals Task Force in Voorhees Township.
The second defendant, Francis is currently in custody on unrelated charges at the Salem County Correctional Facility and was served with his charges there. The arrest was the result of a joint investigation by the GCPO, Woolwich Police Department and Camden Metro
Police.
“This multi-county investigation resulted in arrests due to persistent police work,” said Prosecutor Sean F. Dalton. “These are dangerous individuals and we are pleased they will be held accountable for their actions. I want to thank Camden Metro, Woolwich Police Department and the GCPO Investigators for their fine work.”
