ALICE JULIA PEDERSEN – Obituary

          Alice Julia Pedersen (nee Sadowski) of Glassboro on Thursday, January 12, 2017. Age 94.  Wife of the late Randolph Edward Pedersen.  Mother of Edward R. (Karen) Pedersen, Susan Pedersen, JoEllen Pedersen, and the late Christine Mary Pedersen.  Grandmother of Daniel V. (Susan) Pedersen and Great-grandmother of Luke, Jake, and Danny Pedersen.  Sister of the late Irene Hughes.  Daughter of the late Morgan and Alethea (nee Murray) Sadowski.

           Born and raised in Philadelphia, Alice has been a resident of Glassboro since 1978.  She was a graduate of Mastbaum High School in Philadelphia and retired in 2000 after 11 years as a secretary with the Diocese of Camden.  Alice was a very active volunteer in Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church.  She was the face behind the glass selling tickets for their annual carnival for many years.  Alice was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas as well as Our Lady of Lourdes.  She enjoyed ceramics and loved to travel.  Her family recalls that she was well known for sending cards to family and friends for birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, get-well, and “thinking of you”.

            Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 500 Greentree Road, Glassboro, NJ 08028.  Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at the church.  Interment Cedar Green Cemetery, Clayton.  Arrangements under the direction of the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME.  Sign the guest book and send condolences at BarclayFuneralHome.net.
