SHADOW EQUESTRIAN HOLDS ANNUAL TRAIL-A-THON

        On Saturday, October 16th, the annual Shadow Equestrian Trail-A-Thon took place in Franklin Township at the farm of Tom & Kay Drissel.   Organizations such as Shadow Equestrian can only exist successfully with a great team of volunteers, and they have some of the best around!   They clean stalls, brush horses, carry saddles, lead horses, fit helmets and make every child feel special. 

      This year the weather was perfect and there was many in attendance.  Gratitude was expressed to over thirty volunteers who are the strong base for this special program where special horses and the disabled overcome weakness (SHADOW). Two volunteers were recognized and received trophies.   Cindy Rodriguez received the Volunteer of the Year Award presented by Jill and Hayley Burkert.   Kelly Rouh was awarded with the PATH International Instructor of the Year Award presented by Kay Drissel.  

        The Most Improved Rider of the Year Award was presented by the members of the Piccione family and went to student Austin Alessio. Special congratulations went out to all the riders and Katelyn (Kate) Guilfoy who successfully passed all tests and became a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor in June. 

      The riders who participated this year at the Trail-A-Thon events of the day were: Connor Evans, laurel Jastrzembski, Zachary Goonan, Ronnie Hoos, Lily Adkins, DJ McChesney, Emma Eschenbach, Finn Priory, Own Conlin, Tommy Bright, Justin Buckley, Jaxon Hassell, Jordyn Vivadelli, Jackson Buckley, Blake Reilly, Jessica Jester, Mia O’Neill, Keira O’Neill, Austin Alessio, Aidan Giles, Angel Getty, Christian Warren, Mazie Gill, Lainey Martin, Frankie Franz, Reagan Kiesel, Kaelyn Smith and Connor Fairman.
