PEDESTRIAN MVC/HIT & RUN
Press Release from Franklin Township Police Department
On Sunday, July 31st at around 8:20 PM, Franklin Township Police officers responded to the 300 block of Delsea Drive, Malaga section for a pedestrian motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, police discovered a 63 year old female, Mary Mayo of Newfield had been struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Delsea Drive. Mayo was transported to Cooper University Hospital for numerous serious injuries. Mayo is currently listed in critical but stable condition.
The vehicle that struck Mayo fled south on Delsea Drive toward Vineland prior to police arrival. The investigation is active and on-going and police are requesting that anyone who may have witnessed the crash or have any information regarding the accused vehicle or driver to contact Detective Alex Fragoso at (856)694-1414. Assisting at the scene was Malaga Fire Department, Gloucester County EMS, Inspira Paramedics, Gloucester County Prosecutors Office and Jeff State 1 Medevac.
