PATRICIA ANN GANNON- Obituary

Patricia Ann Gannon (nee Dillon) on Sunday, October 16, 2022. Age 75. Wife of 29½ years to the late Richard Joseph Gannon. Mother of Sean W. Gannon (Priscilla) and Kathryn A. Gannon. Grandmother of Alana and Ian Gannon. Sister of Theresa Foulks (Thomas) and Merle Dillon. Sister-in-law of Jane Gannon, Linda Milby (Phil), and William Gannon (Jo-Anne). Aunt to many nieces and nephews and their respective families. Daughter of the late William & Marie Dillon.

Born in Wildwood and raised in Mount Ephraim, Patricia has been a resident of Clayton since 1975. She was a 1965 graduate of Audubon High School and a 1969 graduate of Glassboro State College with a BA in Elementary Education. Later, she also attended a paralegal program at Gloucester County College. Patricia taught for 6 years at Mount Ephraim Schools (2nd, 4th, & G+T) and for 19 years at the Clayton Elementary School (G+T, Basic Skills, & Kindergarten) before retiring.

Throughout her life Patricia was always involved in her community. She served as Past-president of the Haddon Heights Jaycee and Elks, Past-president of the Mount Ephraim PTA, VP of the Clayton Crime Watch, VP Friends of Clayton Schools, Past-president and current member of Clayton Environmental Commission, and board member of the Glassboro Child Development Center. Patricia was co-founder of C.A.A.R.E – Citizens Against A Ruined Environment to stop expansion of a hazardous waste facility within 1650 feet of Clayton High School. She was also politically active as councilwoman and later mayor of Clayton. Patricia’s interests included drawing, painting, scrapbooking, and caring for her grandchildren.
