MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH (Franklin Twp/Malaga section)

On Friday, July 8th at around 1:40 a.m., Franklin Township Police Department responded to a single car motor vehicle crash on Delsea Drive in the area of Malaga Terrace. Upon arriving, Officers observed an overturned vehicle that had run off the roadway, striking a utility police belonging to Atlantic City Electric and property belonging to Newfield National Bank (Malaga branch). During the investigation, it was determined the occupant of the vehicle had fled the scene. With the assistance of the NJ State Police, it was discovered that an eighteen year old male, Ramon Correa, was picked up after the crash and driven to a residence in the Harding Woods development in neighboring Pittsgrove Twp. No injuries were reported from the crash and alcohol and drugs were not a factor. Over 900 residents in the Malaga area were without power for several hours. According to Franklin Twp police, Correa will be receiving motor vehicle tickets as a result of the crash that is being investigated by Officer Austin Theuret. Assisting at the scene was the Malaga Fire Department, Atlantic City Electric, Speedy’s Towing and NJ State Police
