MARTHA MARY ROACH – Obituary
Martha Mary Roach (nee Kelley) of Franklinville on Saturday, February 3, 2024. Age 85. Wife of 56 years to the late George Thomas Roach, Jr. Mother of Roger Neal (Mary) Roach, Deborah Ann (Richard Edward) Wilkes, Sheila Ann Dizenzo, and Michael Kettyle. Grandmother of Richard Edward (Regina) Wilkes, Jr., Dawn Ann (James Allen) Justis, Melissa Mary Dizenzo, and Melanie Rose Dizenzo. Great-grandmother of Danny Lee Jarrell, Sophia Lyrics Jarrell, Mackenzie Mae Justis, Vincent George Wilkes, Dominic Anthony Wilkes, and Arya Rose Dizenzo. Daughter of the late Edwin & Martha (nee Rumford) Kelley.
Born in National Park and raised in Runnemede, Martha has been a resident of Franklinville for the past 42 years. She was a 1956 graduate of Audubon High School and worked for 20 years as a bus driver for The ARC of Gloucester County and later for 8 years as a bus aide for Franklin Township BOE until her retirement in 2018.
Martha loved camping, diamond art, ceramics, and wood-painting crafts. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, going on the boat with her late husband George and family, and going to the skating rink with George as kids and young adults. Martha loved going out to dinner and taking rides in the car; she always liked to be out gallivanting around with her late husband and family. She drove her scooter all around the campground visiting everyone. Martha loved her animals: a dog “Princess”, a cat “Snowball”, and her two goats “Ollie” and “Dixie”. To her delight, for Mother’s Day every year, the family would spend the weekend down at Wildwood.
