LYNN PARDEE-MANTON – Obituary
Lynn Pardee-Manton, 81, of Port Orange, Florida, went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2022. Lynn was a long-time resident of Millville, New Jersey, and Franklin Township before moving to Crane Lakes in Port Orange, Florida in 1998 with her beloved husband of 14 years, Albert E. Manton, who preceded her in death in 2011. Lynn was very active in politics in her home state of New Jersey. She served as County Adjustor of New Jersey Elections and rose through the ranks to become President of the New Jersey State Association of Election Officials in Cumberland County in 1992. That same year she finally attained her goal of graduating from then Glassboro State College, now Rowan University, “cum laude” with a B.A. Degree in Law and Justice. After her husband’s death Lynn became involved in the social happenings at Crane Lakes, including Cordon Bleu Cooking lessons, which she enjoyed so much that she started giving lessons to those interested in learning the fine points of being a Gourmet cook. Having enjoyed traveling with her husband, Lynn never stopped touring the world. From church trips to Israel and Egypt to a journey halfway around the world to New Zealand, she enjoyed her trips with her travel groups as well as the new-found friendships with her fellow travelers when she got home. Lynn was a card-carrying member of the Red Hats and every week joined some of her fellow Crane Lakes residents for dinner as the Merry Widows. Speaking to some of her friends and neighbors, they remarked how beautiful she looked, always elegantly dressed in so much style. When they moved into their new home from New Jersey, Lynn couldn’t leave behind her bright red Ford Mustang convertible! Although she would eventually sell it, it pretty much embodied the spirit of this lovely lady! Pictures of her and her big sister Jean driving around town were always filled with smiles and laughter! Upon their arrival at their retirement home in Crane Lakes, her late husband, Albert, gifted her with another red vehicle a bit more suited to getting around the park: a candy-apple red golf cart with the name “Red Hot Tamale” emblazoned on the front. Lynn happily decorated it with lights and tinsel every Christmas and loved driving it around the park. Lynn is survived by her loving nieces and nephew, Cathy (Will) Dubisky, Karen (Mike) Ryan, and Norman a/k/a Stormy (Pam) Wescoat. Her late husband’s children Bruce Manton, Brenda (Roger) Hurley, Bonnie (Thomas) Zuccarini and Brett Manton. A Memorial Service and Celebration of her Life will be held Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 10:00 at the Port Orange branch of Lohman Funeral Homes. For more details, (386) 761-1100.
