JAMES LEWIS JACKSON, SR. – Obituary

 It is with deep sorrow, that the family of James Lewis Jackson, Sr. of Pittsgrove, announce his passing on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the age of 59.  Known as “Jim” to all, he had been in the fight of his life for the past 27 months against cancer.
     Jim’s memory will forever be cherished by his wife of 39 years, Connie (Hickman); his daughter, Brandy (Jason) Loatman; son, James Jackson, Jr. (Julia Gibe); grandchildren, Alexia and Reece Loatman and Robert Stiteler; sister, Joyce (James) Goldsborough; nephew, Jarrett Goldsborough; in-laws, Joanne (Foster) and Erv Hickman
     Jim was predeceased by his father, Matthias Weber Jackson “Jack”, before he was born and never knew any of his Jackson relatives.  He was also predeceased by his mother Marie “Jane” (Davis) Jackson; grandson, Jason Scott Loatman, Jr.; and grandparents, Lewis and Sara (Ferrell Davis Muller) Davis.
     Jim attended Arthur P. Schalick High School and then started his career as a commercial food production mechanic and over the years, advanced to manager of the department.  He had worked for Blue Coach Foods, Vineland Foods, Ireland Tea & Coffee, Four Star Products, Sunnyside Foods, again at Vineland Foods, Marada Refrigeration, Durand Glass, Beef International and lastly, B.I. Foods, LLC.  As companies were bought and sold, Jim moved onto the purchasing company.
     Jim enjoyed watching and attending NASCAR races, riding his motorcycle, camping and spending time with his family and friends.  Jim was most proud of his children and always did his best to be there for his family.
     Family and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday, January 7, 2023, beginning at 9:00am at Barclay Funeral Home, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312.  A funeral service will begin at 11:00am, followed by interment at Olivet Cemetery in Pittsgrove.  Anyone may sign the guestbook at BarclayFuneralHome.net.
