IDA H. BELL – Obituary

In loving memory of Ida H. Bell (nee Bregler) of Clayton, we are saddened to announce her passing on Monday, May 16, 2022. Age 96, a life so beautifully lived. Wife of 55 years to the late H. Taylor Bell. Mother of Edward A. Bell, Sr. (Betty) of Clayton and the late Ronald T. Bell and Sandra A. Bell. Grandmother of Edward A. Bell, Jr. (Angie) of Mount Laurel and Jennifer L. Bell (Casey) of Mullica Hill. Great-Grandmother of Anthony Dennis (Melanie) of Medford and Taylor N. Bell of Mount Laurel. Sister of Chester R. Bregler, Frances M. Freese, and Carol A. Langley, all of Clayton, and the late Alfred (Bud) Bregler, Elmer Bregler, Jesse (Pete) Bregler, Robert F. Bregler, Florence Kolva, Mary Bregler, and Edna Goldy. Daughter of the late Thomas M. and Lydia H. (nee Alexander) Bregler.

Ida was known for her work ethic, contagious laugh, sharp wit and big heart. She enjoyed sharing stories about growing up with her large family, her competitive bowling league, and all the places around the country she traveled. Once she married Taylor and started their family, Ida loved spoiling and spending time with her grandchildren. After retiring from Struthers Dunn where she worked as a machine operator for over 25 years, Ida found joy in the simplest pleasures. She loved gardening, and baking (locally famous for her cherry cheesecakes), doing puzzles, watching the Phillies, spending time with her family, and playing with Bella. Her socks always matched her shirt, a hair was never out of place, and she never missed an opportunity to deliver a sharp comeback.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Monday, May 23, 2002 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. Funeral service to begin at 11:00 AM. Private interment for the family immediately following. Sign the guestbook at BarclayFuneralHome.net.
