GERALDINE KERN – Obituary

GERALDINE ‘MAMMY’ KERN

Geraldine “Mammy” Kern has moved on to be with the Lord. She was accepted into the Father’s presence on December 24th at 4:45pm in Charleston, WV. Born and raised in Clayton, NJ, she will be laid to rest next to the Love of Her Life, Robert “Pappy” Kern, at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery, in Sewell, NJ. She is survived by her children: Marlene Hill, Bob (Carol) Kern, Daryl (Cindy) Kern, Charley (Mary) Kern, Gerilyn (Mark) Laird.

Geraldine’s legacy of Family and Loved Ones is extensive; 5 children, 17 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. This does not include all the host of people she housed, fed, and loved over the years, every one of them coming to call her “Mammy”. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse that served many years as Sunday School Director for The Rock Church in Pitman, NJ.

Mammy studied with her husband, Bob, at Pinecrest Bible College, where she formed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She instilled that relationship within each of her children. Her desire was to spread the love of God to everyone she met. “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39.

Though she will be greatly missed by all, celebrate her life with us at the Rock Church on December 29th, viewing from 5-7pm, funeral to follow at 7pm. Burial will be Friday, December 30th at 10am. After the burial, a luncheon will be held at The Rock Church.
