GEORGE V ECKBOLD – Obituary

George V. Eckbold on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.  Age 88.  Husband of 68 years to Ann E. Eckbold (nee Nessel).  Father of Michael W. Eckbold and the late George A. (wife Susan, living) Eckbold.  Grandfather of Jessica L. Eckbold.  Brother of Harold Eckbold and the late William Eckbold.  Uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Son of the late Harold and Maria (nee Myers) Eckbold.

Born in Underwood Memorial Hospital in Woodbury, George was a lifelong resident of the Janvier Section of Franklin Township.  He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a Life Member of the NJ Firemen’s Relief Association and a longtime member of the Janvier Volunteer Fire Company where he served as Chief, President, and many other offices.  George worked as a Chemical Operator with E.I. Dupont, Chambers Works in Deepwater for nearly 34 years until his retirement in 1985.  He enjoyed fishing, going to the casinos, and woodworking.  George loved animals, especially dogs, and was known for helping anyone in need.
