GC ANIMAL SHELTER OPEN HOUSE/PET COSTUME PARADE

The Gloucester County Animal Shelter (GCAS) will hold their annual Open House this Saturday, Sept. 30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The celebration will include refreshments, music, face painting and a balloon artist for the kids. This year the new Donor Wall, located in the lobby of the Shelter, will be unveiled at 2 p.m. Vendors will be selling products for animals and the traditional pet costume parade will begin at 3 p.m. This rain or shine event is free and open to the public.
The Gloucester County Animal Shelter helps find forever homes for animals, and the Shelter staff and volunteers also participate in educational programs with the schools to teach students the importance of animal care, safety and the responsibilities that are associated with being a pet owner. All dogs and cats adopted from the GCAS include spay/neuter and all age appropriate vaccines, microchip and collar and tags. Adoption costs for dogs are $125 and cats are $95. There is a $35 discount for senior citizens and veterans.
Various rescue groups will have information and there will be information about the shelter, adoption, and volunteer opportunities and how to become a foster ‘parent’ to a pet. Come enjoy a fun filled day for the whole family. The Gloucester County Animal Shelter is located at 1200 N. Delsea Drive, Clayton.
