ELIZABETH (BETTY) SPADA- Obituary
Elizabeth (Betty) Rebecca Spada(nee: Leiby), of Franklinville, NJ went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 24th, 2022 at the age of 96. Betty and her twin sister Evelyn were born to Lizzy Fox Leiby and George J. Leiby at home in Franklinville on August 27, 1926. She graduated from Clayton High School, and married the love of her life, Joseph Spada, Sr., and resided in Vineland before building a home on the family farm in Franklinville (then called Iona). She was an employee for many years at Franklin Twp Public Schools and was a lifelong member of the Franklinville United Methodist Church. She loved working on puzzles, cooking and spending time with family and close friends. She was very kind, loving and positive and will be greatly missed by friends and family.
She is predeceased by her husband Joseph Spada Sr., her daughter Paula Spada and her siblings: Evelyn Oleszewski (Joe), Katherine Leiby, William Leiby, Mary Simmons (Larry) and George Leiby (Pat). She is survived by her three sons, Joseph Spada Jr., (Linda) of Williamstown, Lynn D. Spada (Jan) of the Villas and Lonnie Spada (Kat) of Franklinville; five grandchildren: Niki, Ashley, Josh, Jennifer and Anna; three great-grandchildren: EJ, Ryan and Mia, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Franklinville United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 28th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Franklinville UM Church, 1525 Coles Mill Rd, Franklinville, NJ 08322 or to the NJ Veterans Memorial Home, 524 NW Blvd., Vineland, NJ 08360.
