DOUGLAS LACY – Obituary
Douglas Lacy, 68, of Malaga, NJ, passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 18, 2024. Loving Son of Donna Lacy (nee Ambrosia) and the late Burnett Lacy. Devoted Father to Douglas Lacy, Jr (Nikkey) & Nicole Lacy (Chris Roth). The Best Pappy to Connor Roth, Natalie Roth, & Everett Lacy. Big Brother to Burnett Lacy, Jr., Shelly Paolino (Sal), and Frank Lacy, (Lou). A favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews. Douglas is predeceased by his Mother, Jeanann DiMatteo and his Brother Tony Lacy.
A 1974 graduate of Clayton High School, Doug grew up in Clayton where he enjoyed playing baseball, football, and wrestling which set him up to later be a great coach to his two children. He loved spending time with his family & friends and will always be remembered for his sense of humor and the smile he could instantly put on your face. Doug enjoyed listening to oldies music and could often be seen doing the pappy shuffle. In recent years, Pappy looked forward to lunches with his grandkids. This led to the idea of bringing together his old classmates for “That 70s Lunch”, earning him the nickname “The Social Director”.
Doug will be greatly missed and his love and laughter will live on through those who knew and adored him.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment is private at the convenience of the family.
