DEFENDANT IN FATAL CRASH RE-ARRESTED

Defendant In Fatal Crash Re-arrested

Shawn Huntsinger  age 46, of Clayton, charged with vehicular homicide and assault by auto in connection with a 1/3/17 motor vehicle crash in Franklin Township, was arrested on Tuesday (9/19) on a bench warrant for failing to comply with a judge’s pre-trial release order.

Officers of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Fugitive Investigations Unit, after learning Huntsinger could be found at his East Linden St. residence in Clayton, took him into custody there without incident.  He was turned over to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department and placed in jail without bail pending an appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court.

Huntsinger violated his pre-trial monitoring release by failing to show proof of efforts to find employment and not complying with a home detention curfew, specifically by visiting several liquor stores. Huntsinger is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, causing the death of 67-year-old Joseph Sauro and injuring two other men in a 2:33 p.m. collision on Fries Mill Road.
