CHILDREN & THE FAMILY IN COLONIAL AMERICA EVENT

Children and the Family in Colonial America at the Whitall House

(National Park)  On Sunday, Aug. 19th, the Whitall House at Red Bank Battlefield Park will be hosting the 18th Century Childhood and Family Heritage Sunday. The event will take place between noon and 4 p.m., and teach adults and children what it was like to live in colonial America. Through games, crafts, and tours of the Whitall House residents can pretend they are a family in the eighteenth century. Exploring how our ancestors acted in a family setting is a great way for families to connect, have fun together and put themselves in our ancestor’s shoes.
Children will learn what it would have been like to grow up in colonial times during this Family Heritage Sunday. Young children would have to gather water from the well and there was no Fortnite. Sunday’s Heritage event is free of charge, held rain or shine and will include many demonstrations. The James and Ann Whitall House is located at Red Bank Battlefield, 100 Hessian Ave, National Park.
