CHARLES ROBERT SHINSKIE – Obituary
Charles Robert Shinskie of Clayton passed on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, surrounded by his family. Age 21. Survived by the love of his life Jocelyn Howard. Son of Elmer Shinskie and Renee Pyffer. Grandson of Elizabeth the late Gilbert Shinskie. Brother of Starr Devito, Joe Grosso, and Anthony Reed. Uncle to Alyvia Devito and Savannah Devito. Nephew of Paul Shinskie (Melissa). Cousin of Karlee Shinskie, Alyssa Shinskie, and Paul Shinskie, Jr. Also survived by his dogs Mia and Shadow and many other family and friends who loved him dearly.
Born in Voorhees, Charles has been a lifelong resident of Clayton where he was a 2020 graduate of Clayton High School. He loved all sports and played them all while growing up and in high school including soccer, basketball, baseball, track, wrestling, and especially football. Charles loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, snowboarding, skiing, kayaking, 4-wheeling, dirt-biking, and hiking. He loved all animals, especially his dogs that he trained, and even raised ducks. Charles was a fantastic cook, making amazing meals. He was so full of energy and loved to sing and dance. Charles was the type of young man always ready to help others and would literally give the shirt off of his back to help someone.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. Funeral mass on Wednesday at 11:30 AM at Saint Catherine of Siena R.C. Church, 49 W. North Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. Interment is private at the convenience of the family.
