CARMELA P. HYDE – Obituary
Carmela P. Hyde (nee Priore) on Thursday, November 24, 2022. Age 92. Wife of the late Edmund P. “Ed” Hyde. Step-mother of Susan E. Hyde and Ginny Ann Giorno (Mark). Sister of the late Nicholas Priore, Orlando Priore, Joe Priore, Rose Valletta, Sarah Santangalo, and Andy Priore. Daughter of the late Potito A. and Carmela (nee D’Amato) Priore. Lifelong friend of Delores Hamilton. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Born in Philadelphia, Carmela has been a resident of Clayton for approximately 90 years. She was a 1948 graduate of Clayton High School and worked for 30 years as a secretary. Carmela began at the Broadwood Hotel in Philadelphia where she was secretary to the president for 10 years. She also worked for Letty Lane Candy, Co. in Westville for 12 years and ended with 2 years at Ecko, Inc in Clayton. Carmela was a charter member of Saint Catherine of Siena R.C. Church in Clayton and was very active over the years including being a lector.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. Funeral mass at 11:30 AM at Saint Catherine of Siena RC Church, 49 W. North Street, in Clayton. Inurnment on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Saint Bridget R.C. Cemetery, Glassboro.
