Albert Frederick Steigerwalt, Jr. of Malaga on Thursday, May 25, 2023. Age 84. Husband of 62 years to the late Naomi Cornelia Steigerwalt (nee Ecker). Father of Albert Steigerwalt, III (Sharon) of Franklin Township, Donna Patane (Angelo) of Franklin Township, and Otto Steigerwalt (Roxanne) of Vineland. Grandfather of Angela Dunn (Phillip), Megan Steigerwalt (Jeremy, fiancé), Geno Patane, Steven Steigerwalt (Adriana, fiancé), and Brianna Steigerwalt. Great-grandfather of Noelle Dunn. Brother of Margaret Franceschi (late Richard), Alberta Stasche (Gus), Robert Steigerwalt (Louise), and the late Philip Steigerwalt (Helen). Son of the late Albert Frederick & Margaret Cline (nee Taylor) Steigerwalt, Sr.
Born and raised in Franklinville, Albert was a 1958 graduate of Clayton High School and proudly served 4 years in the US Marine Corps as a field radio operator earning the rank of Lance Corporal before his honorable discharge on March 23, 1962. He married Naomi on January 3, 1960, and moved to Malaga where they raised their 3 children and he continued to reside for the rest of his life. Albert worked as a glass worker for Friedrich & Dimmock, Inc. in Millville until his retirement. He was very involved with his children including coaching Franklin Township Little League Baseball and Delsea Knight Midget Football as well as helping his daughter with her baton performances. Albert enjoyed traveling with his wife, high school friends, and his Poly Pros friends. In later years, he enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s school plays, music concerts, baseball games, soccer games, track meets, and cross-country events.
