REWARD IN WOODBURY HOMICIDE
The City of Woodbury Police Department and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office (GCPO) are jointly offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for causing the death of 26 year-old Shawneeq M. Carter, of Camden in a Woodbury residence where she had been house-sitting.
Ms. Carter’s body was found by police about 7:30 p.m. Saturday (9/23/17) inside the home at 26 Hopkins St. An autopsy by the Gloucester County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of Ms. Carter’s death was blunt force trauma and the manner of death was homicide. This death remains under investigation by the city Police Department and the GCPO. Both agencies have contributed $2,500 toward the reward.
“We are asking the community to come together to assist us in bringing those responsible for this devastating crime to justice,” said Woodbury Police Chief Thomas Ryan. “Woodbury is a close-knit, strong city that will not stand for these types of acts. With the combined efforts of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, the Woodbury Police Department and the great citizens of Woodbury, we will secure justice for Ms. Carter’s family.”
“Our investigator’s efforts to close this case have been tireless,” said Gloucester County Prosecutor Sean F. Dalton. “We will be grateful to anyone in the community who can help them.”
