NOTICE OF INTRODUCTION
ORDINANCE NO. 16-2026
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF CLAYTON, COUNTY OF GLOUCESTER, NEW JERSEY, APPROPRIATING $20,000 FOR THE ACQUISITION OF VARIOUS EQUIPMENT FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. TAKE NOTE that the foregoing ordinance was introduced at a meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Clayton held on June 11 2026 and was then read for the first time. The said ordinance will be further considered for final passage by the Mayor and Council at the Municipal Building, 125 N. Delsea Drive, Clayton, New Jersey, at a meeting beginning 6:00 p.m. on July 9, 2026, at which time and place, or any time and place to which such meeting be adjourned, all persons interested will be given an opportunity to be heard concerning such ordinance. ORDINANCE NO. 16-2026
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF CLAYTON, COUNTY OF GLOUCESTER, NEW JERSEY, APPROPRIATING $20,000 FOR THE ACQUISITION OF VARIOUS EQUIPMENT FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF CLAYTON, COUNTY OF GLOUCESTER, STATE OF NEW JERSEY, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. There is hereby appropriated the sum of $20,000 from the General Capital Improvement Fund for the Acquisition of Various Equipment for the Police Department including, but not limited to, Portable Radios, Car-Mounted Radios, Radar Equipment and Tactical Gear, together with the acquisition of all materials and equipment and completion of all work necessary therefore or related thereto (collectively, the “Project”). Section 2. It is hereby determined and stated that the Project set forth in Section 1 is a capital improvement and is not a current expense of the Borough. Section 3. The capital budget is hereby amended to conform with the provisions of this ordinance to the extent of any inconsistency therewith, and the resolution promulgated by the Local Finance Board showing full detail of the amended capital budget and capital program as approved by the Director of the Division of Local Government Services, is on file with the Borough Clerk and available for inspection. Section 4. All ordinances, or parts of ordinances, inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. Section 5. AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF CLAYTON, COUNTY OF GLOUCESTER, NEW JERSEY, APPROPRIATING $100,000 FOR THE COMPLETION OF VARIOUS WATER AND SEWER UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS IN AND FOR THE BOROUGH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF CLAYTON, COUNTY OF GLOUCESTER, STATE OF NEW JERSEY, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
There is hereby appropriated the sum of $100,000 from the Utility Capital Improvement Fund for the Completion of Various Water and Sewer Utility Improvements including, but not limited to, Emergency Repairs and Replacements of Various Water Mains and Valves throughout the Borough, together with the acquisition of all materials and equipment and completion of all work necessary therefore or related thereto (collectively, the “Project”).
Section 2.
It is hereby determined and stated that the Project set forth in Section 1 is a capital improvement and is not a current expense of the Borough.
Section 3.

ORDINANCE 18-2026
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE #2-2026 FIXING THE SALARIES, WAGES AND COMPENSATION TO BE PAID THE VARIOUS OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE BOROUGH OF CLAYTON, COUNTY OF GLOUCESTER AND STATE OF NEW JERSEY FOR THE YEAR 2026. BE IT ORDAINED, by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Clayton, County of Gloucester and State of New Jersey as follows:
Section 1. That the Salaries, Wages and Compensation of the various officers and employees of the Borough of Clayton established under Ordinance #2-2026 are hereby amended by and/or by adding the following:
YEARLY SALARY RANGES (NOT TO EXCEED)
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT – Emergency Management Coordinator – $2,500 – $4, 000/year
The said Salaries, Wages and Compensation listed above shall be paid heretofore; and shall be paid in the manner and at the time decided upon by the Mayor and Council.
Section 2. Repealer All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances inconsistent with this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistencies.
Section 3. Severability – Each section of this Ordinance is an independent section, and the holding of any section or part thereof to be unconstitutional, void or ineffective, shall not be deemed to affect the validity or constitutionality of any other sections or parts hereof.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon formal approval by the Clayton Borough Council and publication as required by law.
