KATHLEEN ‘BABE’ BOTTARO – Obituary
Kathleen “Babe” Bottaro passed on to be with our Heavenly Father on 15 November 2021. Devoted wife of 65 years to Larry Bottaro; Mother to Tina Bottaro & Tracey Gay (Tim); Grandmother to TJ and Teri Blasscyk and Tori and Tia Gay; Aunt to Charles DeMarco (Tara), Joseph DeMarco (Jody), James Mansi (Karen) & Joseph Mansi (Maureen). Geri Johnson (Bob), Kathy Cammarota (Mike), Bettye Tremper (Pete). Babe was the youngest and last surviving of her 5 siblings. She is now reunited with brothers Bud, Sonny, and Anthony and sister Marie (Rie).
Babe was born and raised in South Philadelphia and carried a love for the city. She worked at Strawbridge’s in her teenage years where she started out wrapping gifts and later worked her way up to the accounting department. After meeting Larry, the love of her life, she married and later helped her husband run Bottaro & Son Fruit & Produce in the Italian Market. Babe and Larry moved to Franklinville, NJ in 1966.
Babe worked at the Saint Catherine’s Rectory for 27 years and loved working bingo and coordinating church socials. She was also a die-hard Phillies Fan and attended two Phillies World Series Parades. She loved spending time with her family at the beach (North Wildwood) and at Molly Hill Farm. She was happiest sitting around the dinner table surrounded by family and she will be missed by many.
Viewing is Friday, November 19th 6:00-8:00 PM and Saturday, November 20th 9:30-10:30 AM at Barclay Funeral Home 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. Mass will be Saturday, November 20th at 11:00 AM at Saint Catherine of Siena RC Church, 49 W. North Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
