Spotlight on WMS Teacher of the Year, Jennifer Davis
Written by Brielle Anerousis (WMS Public Relations)
(Gloucester County, NJ) Williamstown Middle School is proud to recognize Jennifer Davis as its 2024–2025 Teacher of the Year. With 23 years of experience in education, including 20 years in Monroe Township, Mrs. Davis has devoted her career to empowering students, building community, and teaching with compassion and heart.
For the past 16 years, Mrs. Davis has led a self-contained classroom for students with multiple disabilities in 5th and 6th grade at WMS. “It’s truly my passion,” she says. “We spend the entire day together and become like family. Seeing my students grow and get excited about learning is what I love most.”
Mrs. Davis began her career in Dunellen, NJ, and has taught at both Williamstown High School and Williamstown Middle School, where she has supported students in various classrooms across Science, Math, and ELA. She has also served as an advisor for Youth Alive and Renaissance, helping to cultivate student leadership and personal growth.
One of her most beloved contributions is the WMS Staff Breakfast Cart, which she launched in 2011. Through this program, Mrs. Davis teaches students essential real-world skills such as baking, packaging, money management, communication, and customer service. The program now includes students from other self-contained classrooms and continues to be a favorite among staff and students alike.
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Davis is just as dynamic. She is a wife to pastor Donnie Davis, the mother of four young adults, a certified life coach, and a soon-to-be grandmother. She enjoys baking, crafting, gardening, kayaking, skiing, riding her quad, and spending time with family…especially during family game nights! She describes herself as someone who loves “all the girly things” just as much as getting her hands dirty.
Mrs. Davis is a shining example of dedication, versatility, and heart. Known for her warmth, patience, and genuine kindness, Mrs. Davis is adored by students, colleagues, and families alike. She makes everyone feel seen, supported, and valued without even trying. There’s no doubt among those who know her: she is truly deserving of this recognition. The Monroe Township community is beyond proud to honor her as this year’s WMS Teacher of the Year. Thank you for making a difference, Mrs. Davis!
