THERESA MARIE ‘TERRI’ ALLEN- Obituary

Theresa Marie “Terri” (née Szilagyi) Allen, 56, of Clayton, NJ, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Inspira Medical Center in Elmer.

Terri was the devoted wife of Chris Allen; the couple had been together since 2014 and married since 2021. She was the cherished mother of Zachary Ashton and Michael Ashton, Jr., and the beloved stepmother of Amanda (Paul) Dzindzio and Kate (Nick) Allen. Terri adored her grandchildren, Ben, Nate, Miles, and Austin, who brought immense joy to her life.   Terri was the precious daughter of Janet A. (née McDonough) and the late Ernest R. Szilagyi.  She is also survived by her four siblings: Ernest R. Szilagyi, Jr. of Williamstown, Janet Burgess of Egg Harbor Township, Judy Severino of Wenonah, and Jill Parks of Glassboro; and her goddaughter, Hailey Parker.

Born on July 5, 1969, in Philadelphia, PA, Terri was raised in Glassboro, NJ. She graduated from Saint Bridget Catholic Elementary School in Glassboro and was a proud 1988 graduate of Gloucester Catholic High School. She resided in Clayton for the past 25 years.

Terri began her career as a medical assistant, serving for 10 years with HIP Gynecology, first in Sewell and later in Cherry Hill. She then dedicated 27 years as Office Manager at RTR Trailer Rentals in Woolwich Township, where her professionalism, organizational skills, and warm personality were greatly valued by colleagues and clients alike.

Terri found great joy in life’s simple pleasures and shared adventures with her husband, Chris. An enthusiastic Harley-Davidson rider, she loved cruising scenic routes with him, often trailering their bike to a destination, staying at an Airbnb, and exploring the area’s beauty together. Memorable trips included rides through Tennessee, Florida, the mountains of Upstate New York, and the iconic Skyline Drive along the crest of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains in Shenandoah National Park. She cherished beach walks and horse-drawn carriage rides in Cape May, dining out at favorite restaurants, and, above all, the quiet, meaningful time spent simply being together with Chris.

Relatives and friends are invited to Terri’s viewing on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Barclay Funeral Home, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by interment at Cedar Green Cemetery in Clayton.  Sign the guestbook and send condolences at BarclayFuneralHome.net.
