SUZANNE M. MCNULTY – Obituary
Suzanne M. McNulty (nee McLaughlin) of Clayton on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Age 91. Wife of 21 years to the late Joseph B. McNulty. Mother of Edward F. (Laureen) Swank, III and the late Margaret Masterson. Grandmother of Ed (Jaime) Swank, Daniel (Catrina) Swank, Laureen (Matt) Sparacio, Patrick (Jennifer) Swank, Carl (Diane) Hafferkamp, and Donna Maddalone. Great-grandmother of 13 plus one on the way. Sister of the late Charles McLaughlin and Dolores McLaughlin. Daughter of the late Daniel and Sarah (nee Mullen) McLaughlin.
Suzanne was born in Philadelphia where she lived most of her life before moving to Clayton nine years ago. She worked as a Drop Wire Girl in a textile mill in Philadelphia for 35+ years and later as a Nurse’s Assistant at Immaculate Mary Home in Philadelphia. During the summers of the 1960s, Suzanne also managed “The Allegheny” in Wildwood where she met many people who later became her friends. Visiting the shore, especially Wildwood, was always a favorite. She was happy as a homemaker and liked cooking, sewing, and especially seeing her grand-kids. Suzanne was an avid swimmer throughout her life, swimming at the YMCA in Philadelphia three to four times a week up until age 82 when she moved out of Philadelphia. She even earned a 50-mile pin late in her life with her accumulated laps in the pool. Her son remembers her being friendly with anyone, but just don’t get her Irish up.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Thursday, July 12, 2018, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312.
