SAMUEL FISLER CRANE – Obituary

  Samuel Fisler Crane of Franklinville on Sunday, September 27, 2020.  Age 94.  Husband of 53 years to Jeanne Shirley Crane (nee DeFrehn).  Father of Brian Crane of Clayton and Dottie Crane of Glassboro.  Grandfather of Ted Cowgill, also of Glassboro.  Brother of the late Steve, Frank, and Bill Crane.  Uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Son of the late Mulford and Dorothy (nee Fisler) Crane.  Also survived by his dog, “Tater”.

Born and raised in Clayton, Sam was a 1943 graduate of Clayton High School and continued living in Clayton until 1994 when he moved to Franklinville.  After graduation, Sam joined the US Navy and proudly served his country for four years during World War II.  He was a very talented, self-employed carpenter all his life.  Throughout the years, Sam enjoyed sailing, tending to his vegetable garden, and snow skiing.  He also had a boat in the Poconos where the family would vacation and enjoy water skiing.  Recently, Sam enjoyed driving the tractor for a local farmer to help him get his hay in.
