ROBERT H. ‘BOB’ MOUNIER, II – Obituary
Robert H. “Bob” Mounier, II, 78, of Newfield, NJ, passed away on Thursday morning, March 5, 2026, at the NJ Veterans Memorial Home after an extended illness. Bob was born and raised in Vineland and was a resident of Newfield since High School. He was the son of the late Andre “Andy” and Elle May (Dryden) Mounier. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy (Mounier) Botbyl-Phillips, her husband Ron Botbyl, and theirs two sons, Ronnie and Dennis, as well as both his father and mother in law, Jack W. and Hazel (Miller) Moore.
Bob was a graduate of Vineland High School, Class of 1966. He entered the US Air Force in 1966 and was discharged as a Sgt. in 1970, after his service in the Vietnam War. Bob was employed by Kontes Glass Co. prior to being hired by the State of NJ Dept. of Corrections. Bob retired as a DOC Lt. with 25 years of service from South Woods State Prison.
Bob dearly loved all the animals they had, one dog (Alice) and one cat (George) in the beginning of their marriage, but the cat population grew and grew over the years! He enjoyed playing softball, after the service and in later years. He was an avid golfer until his health no longer allowed. Bob also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, as well as skiing, camping and traveling with his beloved wife, friends and family. Bob enjoyed gatherings, parties, dancing and laughing. He was always ready to have a good time!
Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Susan M. (nee Moore), his sister, Debbie (Mounier) Munyon, brothers in law, Terry Phillips, and John T. Moore, Sr. and his wife, Jacklyn, also by his nieces and nephews: Amanda (Moore) Burke (Ed), JT Moore, Jr. (Cari), Marc Munyon (Jessica), Bree (Moore) Pakosinski, and Jill (Munyon) Johnson (Adam), as well as several great nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be conducted at a later date, with interment at the Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery, Williamstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions can do so to:
