PHILLIP BARTON DESCHLER – Obituary
Phillip Barton Deschler, age 59, on November 12, 2025, in Galloway Township, NJ. He was the beloved husband of the late Laurie Esther (née Reineck) Deschler. The couple married on November 9, 2002, and shared 18 years of marriage until her passing on April 19, 2021.
Phillip was a caring brother to Christopher M. Deschler, Sr. (Arlene), Donna Deschler, James Deschler (Patricia), the late Roy Jacob Deschler, Jr., and the late Charles Winston Deschler, Sr. He was the son of the late Roy Jacob and Mary Frances (née Tripler) Deschler, Sr., and is lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He is also remembered with affection by his life partner of the past year, Nikki Haber.
Born on June 16, 1966, in Elmer, NJ, Phillip was raised in Aura and remained closely connected to his South Jersey roots throughout his life. He was a proud graduate of Delsea Regional High School, class of 1984. Phillip resided in Atco for three to four years before ultimately settling in Rio Grande.
Phillip spent much of his career in the security field, working faithfully for Tri-County Security. His assignments took him to Sony Records in Pitman, Underwood Memorial Hospital in Woodbury, and Ecko Products in Clayton, where he was known for his reliability and calm presence. In recent years, he enjoyed working as a store associate at Wawa in Rio Grande, where he built friendly connections with coworkers and customers alike.
Known for his gentle and reserved nature, Phillip had a lifelong passion for Star Wars and a love of computer games. He delighted in supporting his late wife Laurie at craft fairs, helping to sell her handmade “FurBabies.” A devoted companion to his dog, Lucky, Phillip treasured the comfort of home and the company of family.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. Funeral service at 12:00 PM. Interment to follow at Downer United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2214 Fries Mill Road, Williamstown, NJ 08094.
