MICHAEL PATRICK MURRAY, II – Obituary
Michael Patrick Murray, II, age 31, of Clayton, NJ, on September 6, 2025. Son of Tina M. (née Holzer) Socha of Williamstown, William E. Socha of Clayton, and the late Michael P. Murray. Brother of Nichole and Lauren Murray, and a cherished nephew to Jimmy Holzer, Joey Holzer, and the late Tommy Holzer. Grandson of the late Ronald and Margaret “Peggy” Holzer, and the great-grandson of the late Margaret Fenton. Michael will be fondly remembered by his close friend, Dorita Brown. He will also be missed by his aunts, uncles, and cousins on the entire Murray side. Beloved grandson of Theresa “Nana” and Walter Bean.
Born on July 13, 1994, in Philadelphia, PA, Michael spent his early years in the city before relocating with his family to Clayton, NJ. He was a member of the 2008 graduating class of Saint Catherine of Siena Elementary School in Clayton, NJ and went on to graduate from Saint Augustine Preparatory School in Richland, NJ, in 2012. While at “The Prep,” Michael was a proud member of the rugby team, where he developed strong bonds with teammates and a lasting love for the sport.
Michael worked for several years as a cook at Little Jim’s Pizza & Pasta in Clayton. Later, he served as a Lawn Care Specialist with Keith’s Lawn Care, where he demonstrated attention to detail and dedication.
A man of many interests, Michael was a passionate coin collector and an avid reader with a deep curiosity about the world. He loved astronomy and often spent time exploring the wonders of the night sky. A true Philadelphia sports fan, he cheered on the Eagles and Phillies with unwavering loyalty, through every win and loss.
