MARY TYERS- Obituary
Mary Tyers (nee Negro), 66, of Franklinville NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2020 with her loving husband by her side. Born on October 14, 1953 in Woodbury NJ, she lived her youth in Williamstown, NJ. For most of her adult life, she lived in Franklinville, NJ. Mary was a supervisor for the after-school program, “Just Kids,” developed by Archway Programs, Inc, Marlton NJ. She was an energetic whirlwind of laughter and love, who dedicated herself entirely to her faith, family, and community. Mary gave selflessly of herself to her Church, St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Glassboro, NJ, where she was a member of the Altar Guild and taught Sunday School for many years. Her family was everything to her. She raised her younger siblings when she was just a teenager. Her sons, Brad, Jeremy, and Ryan were the joy of her life. As a sports enthusiast, Mary not only played sports herself, but she also coached for many years soccer for Franklin Township.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, William Tyers; her father, Michael J. Negro, Sr.; her three sons, Bradley Tyers (Lisa), Jeremy Tyers (Deanna), and Ryan Tyers (Jami) her grandsons, Dechlan, Grayson, Liam, Declan, and Bryce. She is also survived by her siblings, Michelle DeFiore (Thomas), Joseph Negro (Kathleen Vespe), Constance Wrage (Richard), Cynthia McKeffery (Jack), Michael J. Negro, Jr., Maria Negro, and Donna Ingemi (Anthony); and brother-in-law, Michael Eck, Sr. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins survive her, too. She was predeceased by her mother, Eleanor Buie Negro, her sisters Christina Negro, Marion Negro, and Harriett Negro Eck. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful if donations were made to the American Cancer Society or to the Oasis Animal Sanctuary, Inc in Franklinville. There will be a graveside ceremony at St. Thomas Episcopal Church Cemetery, 212 N. Main St., Glassboro on Saturday, October 17th, at 11 AM
