KENNETH ROBERT KING – Obituary
Kenneth Robert King, age 67, on August 9, 2023, in Haddon Township, NJ. He was the beloved son of the late Ernest and Louise King. Kenneth is survived by his devoted sister, Mary Murray. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dennis J. King, Marie F. King, and Nancy A. King, as well as his cherished daughter, Veronica King.
Born on January 9, 1956, Kenneth was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which he considered home. He graduated from Bishop Newman High School, class of 1974, and soon after answered the call to serve his country. For the past 22 years, Kenneth had been a proud resident of Mount Ephraim, New Jersey.
After graduating high school, Kenneth began his military career in the United States Army and later continued his dedicated service with the Army National Guard until 2004. His distinguished military career included service in Vietnam, participation in Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. His steadfast commitment and courage were hallmarks of a life devoted to service.
Following his military service, Kenneth continued to support his community as a security guard at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. From 2006 until his retirement in 2012, he worked to ensure the safety and well-being of patients, staff, and visitors.
Kenneth was an active member of the VFW Club and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and deer hunter, pursuits that brought him peace and joy throughout his life. He also loved to swim and was an excellent diver. Known for his creativity and steady hands, Kenneth had the unique ability to make rings out of dollar bills, a skill that often brought smiles to those around him.
