KEITH EVANS – Obituary

Keith Evans, age 58, of Clayton, New Jersey, on May 11, 2025. He is survived by his devoted wife of 21 years, Robin Leigh (née Cyrus) Evans, whom he lovingly married in December of 2003. He was a proud and devoted father to Jamal Evans, Bryan Evans, and Tyrek Evans, and a cherished stepfather to Christina Cardenas and Jose Cardenas. Keith was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Duke and Gwendolyn (née Gunter) Evans, and by his brother, Brian Evans.

Keith was born on December 12, 1966, in Neptune, New Jersey. He was a proud graduate of Neptune High School, Class of 1985. During his high school years, he played varsity basketball—a sport that became a lifelong passion and source of joy.

Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving honorably from 1989 to 2000. His time in the service was a defining period in his life, instilling in him a strong sense of discipline, responsibility, and pride in service.

Following his military service, Keith worked for General Services Administration (GSA) for three years as a Chemical Supply Specialist, further demonstrating his dedication to public service and hands-on work. Over the years, he lived and worked in several cities that helped shape his journey. In Burlington, New Jersey, he worked as a skilled mechanic at the local Walmart Supercenter. In 2008, he relocated to Houston, Texas, where he continued his work with Walmart and also spent time two years at Home Depot. In 2018, Keith returned to Burlington, where he resumed working at Walmart until 2022. Later he made his home in Clayton, where he found comfort and community in his final years.

Keith was a man of quiet strength and simple joys. He loved basketball, especially the New York Knicks, and was a loyal fan of all New York sports teams. Music played a major role in his life, a shared passion throughout his family. He enjoyed relaxing with movies, indulging in his favorite sandwiches and pizza from Goodfella’s New York Italian Deli in Glassboro, and tending to the communal garden at Camp Salute, where he found peace and community.
