JESSIE N. WESLEY-Obituary
Jessie N. (née Nichols) Wesley, age 97, on January 9, 2026, in Franklinville. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Willard Bramell, with whom she shared 13 years of marriage, and Robert Wesley, with whom she shared 34 years. Devoted mother of John Joseph Barmell of Monroeville and the late Harry Bramell. Beloved grandmother of Jessica Zeak (Nicholas) of Monroeville and the cherished great-grandmother of Connor Williams, Aubrey Zeak, and Brooke Zeak. Daughter of the late Chester and Julia (née Williams) Nichols, Sr. Sister of Dave (Carol) Nichols of Brevard, NC, and was predeceased by her siblings Julia Smalley, Edna Errickson, Chet “Bud” Nichols, Jr., Jack Nichols, and Francis Nichols. Jessie is survived by a plethora of nieces and nephews.
Raised in Franklinville, Jessie graduated from Clayton High School, Class of 1946. She spent more than 44 years living in Elmer, before returning to Franklinville, which she called home for the past nine years. Prior to her marriage, Jessie was employed at Kimble Glass in Vineland. She later devoted her life to being a housewife and homemaker, caring lovingly for her family. Raised on her family’s apple orchard, she maintained a strong work ethic throughout her life and, in later years, continued to lend a helping hand to her brother whenever needed.
Jessie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid gardener who took great pride in her flowers and plants. She enjoyed visiting casinos to play the slot machines and especially cherished earning a complimentary room, where she could watch the sunrise over the ocean. Jessie liked doing jigsaw puzzles, watching golf on television, and indulging in her favorite Orange Crush soda—often as a float made with orange sherbet. Jessie will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of family, and the quiet joys that enriched her life.
