JAMES CHRISTIAN CLYDE MCCORMICK – Obituary
James Christian Clyde McCormick of Clayton on Friday, August 19, 2022. Age 24. Son of Kathryn H. McCormick (nee Brennan) and James C. McCormick. Like a son to his life-long mentor Mark Smith. Fiancé of Ashley Raia. Grandson of (late) Thomas Brennan and survived by Emerene Brennan, (late) George McCormick and survived by Jane McCormick. Brother of Bonnie McCormick (Mike Bozarth), Julie McCormick, Robert McCormick (Katie McCormick), and Marilyn McCormick (Jason Hochkile). Uncle to (late) Jason Marcheski, Ryan and Danny Colihan; Christopher, Hope, Dylan, and Jarrid Carlisle; and Brennan, Jr., and Rocky McCormick.
Born in Woodbury, Christian was a lifelong resident of Clayton before moving to Atco two years ago. He was a 2016 graduate of Clayton High School and completed an apprenticeship training program in plumbing at Camden County College in 2022. Christian has worked for Mark Smith Plumbing of Clayton for ten years and was currently a Journeyman Plumber.
Ever since Christian was a baby, if it had wheels, he was playing with it or on it. That grew into skateboarding, roller hockey, BMX bikes, and then dirt bikes and four-wheelers. All these things Christian would try out and become great at it like it was second nature. When he decided to try snowboarding, he started on the biggest mountain. He was so in love with his fiancé and extremely excited to be expecting their first child. There isn’t a soul that didn’t love his smile and goofy giggle. If you were in a bad mood or sad, he did whatever to change your mood, and he would get it done. Christian especially loved spending time with his family and friends: fishing, crabbing, playing pool, playing cards, and enjoying his dog “Benji.” Family and friends knew he was reliable and would always be there if you needed him.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday, August 26, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312.
