Gloucester County Updates On COVID-19


As of Thursday, August 20th Gloucester County has conducted 40,857 total tests. Of these cases, 37,332 have come back negative. Gloucester County’s total positive COVID-19 case count is now 3,525 and has 211 COVID-19 related deaths. Today, Gloucester County has an additional 19 cases to report. Of those cases:
The 3507th case is a 17-year-old male from Swedesboro.
The 3508th case is a 65-year-old male from Deptford.
The 3509th case is a 59-year-old female from Washington Twp.
The 3510th case is a 25-year-old male from Washington Twp.
The 3511th case is an 85-year-old male from Deptford.
The 3512th case is a 21-year-old female from Franklin Twp.
The 3513th case is a 17-year-old male from Woolwich.
The 3514th case is a 23-year-old female from Washington Twp.
The 3515th case is a 49-year-old female from Deptford.
The 3516th case is a 60-year-old female from Glassboro.
The 3517th case is an 18-year-old male from Harrison Twp.
The 3518th case is a 33-year-old female from Deptford.
The 3519th case is an 18-year-old male from Swedesboro.
The 3520th case is a 16-year-old male from Franklin Twp.
The 3521st case is a 19-year-old male from Franklin Twp.
The 3522nd case is a 16-year-old male from Mantua.
The 3523rd case is a 1-year-old male from West Deptford.
The 3524th case is a 59-year-old female from Monroe Twp.
The 3525th case is a 16-year-old male from Harrison Twp.

The Gloucester County Department of Health and Human Services is working with the New Jersey Department of Health to conduct a full assessment that includes identifying the contacts these individuals have had. At this time, the overall threat of COVID-19 to Gloucester County residents remains low. Gloucester County is expecting cases to rise. Social distancing is critical in flattening the curve and reducing cases. New Jersey residents can call 2-1-1 or 1-800-962-1253 with questions. The call center is open 24/7 and has multi-language capacity.

People should call their doctor or hospital before going so healthcare staff can provide instructions on getting care. Most people with mild symptoms do not need to be tested. It is important to stay home and isolate from others while sick.
