Gloucester County Updates On COVID-19 – 114 additional Cases reported today


As of Thursday, October 8th Gloucester County has conducted 64,431 total tests. Of these cases, 59,482 have come back negative. One case has been moved out of county. As per state health guidelines, higher education confirmed cases of COVID 19 who live on or off campus are to be reported to the jurisdiction in which the college/university is located- not their home county. However, many individuals give their home address as this is what is associated with their health insurance. This can result in large number, one day spikes when cases are transferred from their home counties to the county where the college/university is located. However, the cases are already investigated and contact tracing is complete. Currently, Gloucester County Health Department is in the process of receiving and reporting cases that have been previously sent to other jurisdictions but belong in Gloucester County. The County’s total positive COVID-19 case count is now 4,949 and has 223 COVID-19 related deaths.. Today, Gloucester County has an additional 114 cases to report. Of those cases:

At this time, the overall threat of COVID-19 to Gloucester County residents remains low. Gloucester County is expecting cases to rise. Social distancing is critical in flattening the curve and reducing cases. New Jersey residents can call 2-1-1 or 1-800-962-1253 with questions.
