DOUBLE FATAL CRASH – Elk Township (Gloucester County NJ)
Elk Township Police Department Press Release : On Monday, October 21st, 2024 at 4:10 pm, the Elk Township Police Department responded to a call for a motor vehicle crash in front of 711 Elk Road. Upon arrival, Officers observed a Lexus RX with one occupant and a Mitsubishi Outlander with three occupants. Heavy front end damage was located on both vehicles. Officers immediately began rendering medical aid to all persons involved. All four occupants were transported to Cooper Hospital. The driver of the Mitsubishi, Gladys Mayer of Mullica Hill, was pronounced deceased a short time later. The passenger of the Mitsubishi, Gladys King of Mullica Hill, was pronounced deceased several days later. The initial
investigation revealed that the Lexus was traveling east on Elk Road and entered the lane of travel of the Mitsubishi, which was traveling west on Elk Road. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
