ARTHUR ‘ART’ MARSHALL DILWORTH, JR. – Obituary

Arthur “Art” Marshall Dilworth, Jr., age 79, of Clayton, New Jersey, on April 30, 2025. Art was a devoted and loving husband to Diane Regina Dilworth, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and unwavering companionship. He left a son Radd Dilworth, and a beloved brother to William (Pamela Godwin) Dilworth of Atco, NJ, and Sherry (Joe) Drebes of Aura, NJ. Art was a cherished uncle to Seth Godwin. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Arthur Marshall and Ruth Elizabeth (née Stewart) Dilworth, Sr.

Born in Woodbury, NJ, Art grew up in Collingswood, NJ. He was a proud graduate of Collingswood High School, class of 1963. Art furthered his education at Temple University, where he studied Mechanical Engineering. Art lived in Mullica Hill, NJ, for eight years before moving to Liverpool, NY, where he resided for another eight years. In 1991, Art and Diane settled in Clayton, NJ, where they have made their home for the past 34 years.

Art proudly served his country in the United States Army, an experience that shaped his character and instilled in him a deep sense of duty and pride. He retired from Sargent Lundy as a Mechanical Designer in 2010. Art approached his work with dedication, a keen eye for detail, and a strong work ethic that earned him the respect of his colleagues.

Known for his love of family, Art was deeply involved in his church. A longtime active member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Pitman, he generously gave of his time, volunteering for various church activities, and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He had a passion for the simple joys of life, such as working in the yard, landscaping, and washing cars. He also cherished the simple pleasures of home life. A die-hard Phillies fan, Art followed the team closely and enjoyed the excitement of the game. He also treasured his travels with Diane, especially their trips to Cancun and Bermuda, where they created lasting memories together.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 10 AM to 11 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312.  Funeral service to begin at 11 AM.  Ennichement and military honors will follow at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Williamstown.
