William Leslie ‘Hawk’ Sciuto – Obituary

William Leslie “Hawk” Sciuto of Clayton on Thursday, July 22, 2021.  Age 72.  Brother of  Jennie “Jean” Ehrler (William, Jr.) of Clayton, the late Judith A. Carano, and the late Joseph C. Sciuto.  Uncle of Donna Ehrler (Roger Hildebrand), William Ehrler, III (Dawn), Stacy Brown (Chris), Ronn Carano, Jr. (Audra), and John Carano (Keswicke).  Great-uncle of Madison Brown, Maria Hildebrand, Shannon Ehrler, Emily Ehrler, Hailey Carano, Tre Carano, Aidan Carano, and O’Tera Carano. Son of the late William A. & Mildred (nee Mazzuca) Sciuto.  Also survived by his many brothers from the Knights of Columbus and his Veteran friends.

Born in Philadelphia and a resident of Clayton since age 4, William was a 1967 graduate of Clayton High School.  He proudly served in the US Army Signal Corps from 1968 to 1970 earning the rank of Sergeant.  William worked as a clerk and later produce manager for Acme Markets in Clayton for 25 years before his retirement.  He was a longtime member of Saint Catherine of Siena RC Church in Clayton and the Knights of Columbus, Council #6890.  In his younger years, William enjoyed bowling and traveling.  He enjoyed watching sports and was a fan of the Phillies and the Eagles.  William loved the casinos and playing the lottery.  One of his favorite things to do was going out to eat with family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ where friends may call from 9:30 AM until service time.  Interment at the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.  Sign the guestbook at BarclayFuneralHome.net.
