VICTORIA FRANCES DARE – Obituary

Victoria Frances Dare (nee Oehlers) on Friday, August 3, 2018.  Age 75.  Mother of Cheryl and Christina “Tina” Dare.  Sister of Edward (Sara) Oehlers and the late Frank and Mary Oehlers.  Aunt to many nieces, nephews, and their children.  Daughter of the late Frank C. and Victoria (nee Kalinowski) Oehlers.  Also survived by her beloved dog Toby whom she adored!
Born and raised on a farm in Elk Township, Victoria remained a resident there for her entire life.  She was a member of the first graduating class from Delsea Regional High School in 1961 and later graduated from Glassboro State College in 1965.  Victoria had a true passion for teaching.  She taught mostly 2nd grade for her 40+ years at Somerdale Public School until her retirement in 2010.  After leaving teaching, Victoria became very involved in the Senior Bowling and Busy Bee Square Dancing groups.  She also enjoyed spending time at the senior center playing pinochle and taking line dancing classes.  Victoria was always full of energy and had a smile on her face for everyone she came in contact with.  She loved her garden and flowers.  You could always find her working outside doing a “project”…like building a new path or stone wall or tending her garden.  She was always on the go…she was known for never sitting still!!
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Thursday, August 9, 2018, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312.  A Celebration of Victoria’s life will begin at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.  Sign the guestbook and send condolences at BarclayFuneralHome.net.
